We are searching for a creative and talented Part-Time Baker/Cake Designer to help us craft stunning and delicious cakes and desserts. This role offers an opportunity to showcase your skills in a fun, supportive environment while bringing joy to our customers through your creations.
Position: Baker/Cake Designer
Employment Type: Part-Time (10–30 hours per week)
Overview of the Role
The Baker/Cake Designer will be responsible for designing and preparing cakes and desserts, ensuring all products meet the highest standards of quality, taste, and visual appeal. The ideal candidate is a reliable, positive, self-starting team member with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. They should also possess a strong passion for creativity and innovation in cake design.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Creation: Prepare, design, and decorate single-tier to multi-tiered cakes, as well as other desserts.
Cake Preparation: Layer, fill, frost, and decorate cakes to meet client specifications.
Dietary Expertise: Work with dietary restrictions to create custom cakes and desserts.
Trend Awareness: Stay up-to-date on the latest styles and trends in cake design.
Order Fulfillment: Execute daily orders in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines.
Workstation Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked workstation with proper hygiene standards.
Fondant & Gum Paste: Use fondant and gum paste effectively for decorating (experience preferred).
Quality Assurance: Ensure all cakes, pastries, and desserts meet Sweet Stacy’s high standards of quality and taste.
Lifting Requirements: Be able to lift up to 50 pounds as part of your duties.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 2+ years in cake design, baking, or a similar role.
Portfolio: A portfolio showcasing your cake creations is highly preferred.
Education: Certificate or degree in Culinary Arts is a plus but not required.
Certification: ServeSafe Certification is preferred but not mandatory.
Work Authorization: Must have valid U.S. work authorization.
